I'm just starting with Shot Deck and I'm wanting to work with my pdf floors plans that were emailed to me, and I've been struggling for days. Where can I find Best Practices or a tutorial to explain how to get started with floor plans? Thanks!

yes I am using Background Image not viewfinder for sure.
Getting the floorpans in another format is unfortunately is not an option.
I can take a screenshot of the floorplan (that has been emailed to me as a pdf) from Scriptation. That puts the floorplan in Photos that I can use via Background Image on the iPad. So far so good. But I'd prefer to work on my Mac laptop because it's bigger.
So I emailed the floorplan to the laptop. Had to import it into Photos to use Background Image and the quality is terrible. Not usable.
So am I stuck on my iPad for quality purposes? If so I'm going to live :) would like to know one way or the other though. I've already spent a couple days trying to figure this out.
Thanks!
Hi,
(This refers in part to an email conversation).
In order to import a floor plan, it has to be JPG or PNG. You mentioned that the floor plans were PDF. You either have to convert them yourself to PNG, which is not completely trivial, or you can have the sender send them as JPG or PNG.
Now, you mentioned that when you imported the floor plans on mobile versus desktop, you were getting two different qualities. That's not completely possible since the mobile and desktop apps are word-for-word the same code. So we have to consider that you either imported two different image files in varying qualities, or that you imported one as a background image, and one as a viewfinder image. Viewfinder images are much lower quality than the background image.
To import a background image, you simply select background image in the (+) menu, pick the image, and then you get it as a background. This is in a higher resolution.
Please confirm that you've done the Background Image step.
