Hi, I can't start Causality with Ubuntu 22.04

    in Causality Story Sequencer

Hello everyone, I downloades the lastest version of casuality as of may 24, 2022. But after installing it when I try to start Causality with Ubuntu 22.04 I'm getting the following error (Running from terminal):

    ./Causality: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libssl.so.1.1: version 'OPENSSL_1_1_1' not found (required by ./Causality)

Does somebody knows what packages do I need to install in 22.04 in order to run it?

I tried linking the library from a snap directory, but I could not make it work.

    Thanks.

    Eduardo.

For us, there's a thin line between Beta and Release. Betas simply roll over to Release when they're confirmed to work properly.

    Hi,

The 3.0.17 Linux version should now bundle OpenSSL 1.1. You can download it on the beta page: https://www.hollywoodcamerawork.com/causality-betas.html

Please report back if this makes a difference. There may still be some work in getting the app to use the 1.1 libraries instead of the 3.0 system libraries.

    Hi, Per Holmes

I'm happy to report that 3.0.17 does indeed open fine with ubuntu 22.04. I'll start using that one, I'll be happy to report any problem or bug that I may encounter, but I'm not sure if this is the right forum to do so. since it's a beta.

I'm using the program as a Hobbyist trying to learn screenplay writing so no worries if it messes something. I think its not a big deal yet jejeje.

Thanks a lot for the help, great program btw. I'm finding it more fun to use than other softwares that I have tried on linux. I'm still trying to learn the workflow. Currently I'm using more the research area and moving in and out beats from the screenplay to see what seems best.

    Thanks a lot.😁

It seems that Ubuntu 22 uses OpenSSL 3.x, but we require 1.x. We'll have to bundle an OpenSSL. We'll look into that soonest.
