Yes, characters are very much first class citizens. For writing notes about locations, as soon as 3.0 is out, you'll be able to write it into the synopsis field in the beat. For a hack right now, you can attach a note to the beat in research, although this isn't convenient.
Longer term, we'll eventually have something that unites locations, because both production features and Shot Designer 3D care about which scene headings are actually talking about the same location. This will make a Location (capital L) a thing in the app, and surely it'll have detailed information you can fill in about it.
Characters already exist in Research, where you can add as many notes or beats as you'd like. So the support for writing things about characters is much more comprehensive.
That will be a feature at some point, but it's a lot more complex. Basically, you need this both for production features, and for Shot Designer 3D, where you have physical locations.
The problem is that you have many scene headings for one physical location, so it needs a separate concept of a location, and then linking specific scene heading locations to it. And the Int and Ext version of a scene heading might be multiple physical locations. And then you start thinking about the physical location of every location, in order to reduce company moves during production. Such a feature would definitely be part of a production toolset, but it's perhaps odd for it to exist in a vacuum.
But let's see, maybe what you need is something simpler. Version 3.0 (launching very soon) has a synopsis field for everything, including beats. Perhaps all you need is a place to write things that don't go into the script, e.g. notes to self, or more description of the location, of which only a part will actually end up in the script:
Observe the line in the small font just before the script text.
In the scene header I can add the location, but that's not what I mean.
The point is to describe the locations in detail outside the scene heading. So not just "Church", but the type, size, atmosphere - exactly my idea of the ambience of the location. And perhaps later to adapt these to a realisable version (sometimes i have too "unrealistic" ideas).
To be clear, is this just about adding scene headings? Simply right-click a beat and select Insert Scene Heading, or start typing any scene heading (e.g. INT. HOUSE) inside a beat, and it breaks the beat and inserts a scene heading.
I only ask, because you may also mean some broader feature where physical locations are tracked, as you'd want to do in production software. So please clarify.

ah yeah, with an intensive look into the example project "FATE" I realise how this is thought...

and does that also apply to the characters (lt. my first post)?
Well, it's "later" in quotes, it's a week or two.
okay, I understand. It comes later.
For me it's an essential function, so I'll try causality again later.
