Hello Per
I like to write detailed outlines (to the level of one of James Cameron's famous "Scriptments"). I've found I can do this by entering all my description for each beat into the Synopsis Field of the Beat. Since I'm using the scriptment format, these descriptions can get rather wordy.
A small problem I've run into is that I can't enter a 'Return' into my typed text ('Return' causing a line break), because typing a 'Return' character causes me to exit the Field instead.
A workaround is to type my description text into 'Notepad' the way I want (I'm on Windows), including 'Returns' (line breaks), and then 'copy-paste' the text into the Synopsis Field. This will insert line breaks into the Synopsis Field as originally typed. But after doing this a hundred times it gets to be a bit of a drag.
Can this be fixed?
Thanks.
Hi,
You're using the field correctly, it's exactly for scriptments.
Press Shift-Enter to get newlines. I believe our reasoning is that we're moving towards better keyboard access in the script, which is difficult when we have to many fields that need to be submitted in different ways. It might be possible that this moves back to being a more regular text field where enter works normally. But for example in the title and location, enter submits. So there's a discrepancy. I'd rather not change anything until we're ready to do the better keyboard access.
