Hi Per -
Thanks for your help yesterday.
Causality has been perfect for my workflow - I've fleshed out the beats and pivots for my short film in a day and a half. More progress than I made in the last week using other methods.
I've assembled a few observations together for your consideration:
Suggestions:
Timeline: Apply the same mouse controls that are currently used for the whiteboard.
Whiteboard: Use arrow keys to highlight next / previous Beat.
Whiteboard: Keyboard shortcut (maybe Ctrl-Enter?) to enter direct-edit mode for highlighted beat.
I'd love some way to track beat pivots and characters' emotional states, but I see you're already doing some major work on that front, so I'll keep using the same tagging hack that I came up with for the Synopses field in my previous post. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Bugs (all small stuff):
Tag Settings window position bug: Maybe it's just how I have my windows laid out, but when I have an Edit Beat window open at its default location, and then in that window double-click a tag to edit its settings, the Tag Settings window opens behind the Edit Beat window (completely hidden) - perhaps this could default to the Edit Tag window opening next to whatever Edit Beat window the launch request comes from one..
Tag colour update bug: Changes to a tag's colour don't update in the Whiteboard without a reload of the project (they do update in the timeline immediately though).
Whiteboard Fullscreen button state bug: The Fullscreen button's state display is simply a toggle instead of being tied to the window's actual state - so changing the state of the window using the menu options throws the button state out of sync with the window's actual state.
Thanks for your time.
